How to read a player page and a tournament results page on Pickleball Promax
Pickleball Promax shows tournaments and the adult players listed in their public results. This short guide explains the main parts of each page so you can read them correctly.
The category
At the top of a player page you will see a category: Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Advance or Pro. It is generated by our method from the tournament results we have. Nobody chooses their own category, and it is not an official rating from a federation or anyone else. Below it, a short sentence explains which result produced it, for example "Podium finish in the Novice division at a tournament, promoted one tier up from there, until a date".
The results table
Each row is one result: the tournament, its level (club, regional, national or international), the division the player entered, the placement and the source. "Participant" means the player took part but a placement was not published.
Placements and podiums
A podium means finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd. A podium lifts a player one category above the level of the division they entered. That lift lasts for 6 months from the tournament date, after which the player is back at the level they entered, until their next podium. Results with no tournament date keep their lift until a date is added.
Tournament levels
The level of a tournament (club, regional, national, international) is set by an admin and is used only when a division's name does not say its level. For example, an unlabeled "Men's Doubles" at a club event is treated as Beginner level, while the same division at a national event counts as Intermediate level. You can see the full table on how categories are calculated.
Sources
Each result links to the public source it came from, such as a news article, an organizer's results post or a registration list. An admin compared the result with that source when it was added. That means the result appears in the source. It does not mean a federation or organizer recognizes the category.
